Hey everyone,
I've been following the discussions surrounding Eddie Jr. Simon's tragic case, and something that's been on my mind is the role of community trust in police investigations. It seems like one of the biggest hurdles the Baton Rouge police are facing is the lack of witnesses coming forward. I wonder if it's because of fear of retaliation or just a general mistrust in law enforcement?
It makes me think about how crucial it is for the community and police to work together. Could building stronger relationships help crack cases like Eddie's? Maybe community forums or meet-and-greets with officers could open some positive dialogue. It's tough because these aren't just statistics we're talking about—Eddie was a person with a family and friends who miss him dearly. His story is a devastating reminder that we need solutions to prevent more heartbreak. I hope that somehow, some way, more people feel safe enough to speak up, so his family can find the justice they deserve.
What do you all think? How can trust be restored or built up in communities where there's been a lot of violence?
Take care,

Does anyone have more info about where exactly the incident took place? I’ve been following Eddie Jr. Simon’s case and trying to piece together some of the details myself. It’s so upsetting to see another young life lost to violence and to hear another family is left searching for answers. Baton Rouge has struggled with gun violence for a while, and it makes me wonder what all these initiatives are actually doing. I’ve heard mixed opinions on whether community policing is helping or not. Hopefully, someone with information will find the courage to step forward. Eddie and his family deserve justice and some peace.
