I’ve been reading up on the Palm Sunday Massacre, and I can't stop thinking about how it impacted the community, especially the children who lost their classmates and friends. Eddie Lopez was so young, just seven years old and had his whole life ahead of him. Can you imagine being a classmate of Eddie’s and coming to school that Monday and suddenly finding out he and so many others were gone? It must have been incredibly traumatic for those kids and their families. I wonder how they’ve been over the years, processing such a senseless tragedy. It’s so important not to forget the lasting emotional toll this kind of violence leaves on entire communities. Hoping Eddie, Juan, and all the innocent victims continue to be remembered and honored.
