I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact that Jermaine’s murder must have had on his school, Metro Outreach Christian Academy. Imagine being one of his friends or classmates, gearing up for graduation and suddenly losing someone so full of promise. It must be incredibly difficult for them to focus on their studies and future plans while carrying such a heavy grief. I can’t help but wonder if there’s a way the school or the community could have memorialized Jermaine, maybe through a scholarship or a community initiative in his name? It seems like such a positive way to honor his memory and keep the conversation going about ending violence. If anyone from the area knows if something like this happened, I'd love to hear about it. It’s little things like that which might help bring some comfort to those who knew him. Sending strength to them.
