Jermaine Kendrick Martin Jr., an 18-year-old male, was fatally wounded by gunfire on the evening of Sunday, April 26, 2015. At the time of his death, he was a graduating senior at Metro Outreach Christian Academy, with his whole life ahead of him. He was the beloved son of Jermaine Sr.
and Kawanee Martin, and a cherished brother to Tawanee and Bobby Green, and Mecciah Martin.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and South Johnson Street. After being shot, Jermaine ran a short distance on South Johnson Street before he collapsed. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries and passed away.
