Such tragic news about Leta Webb has really struck a nerve in the community. I can't help but think about the fear that must have been coursing through her when she opened her door that morning. To face such violence when she was known for her kindness to everyone around her is just so senseless. I didn't know her personally, but from all accounts, she was someone who gave much of herself to her family and neighbors. I really admire her strength in raising a family, especially with the challenges of adopting children who needed a home. I keep thinking about how gang activity leads to unimaginable suffering for families like hers, who find themselves tangled up in violence just because of associations they didn't choose. It's horrifying. My heart goes out to Eva Usher and the entire family. I hope they find the strength and support they need to heal from this terrible loss. Also, I hope the community continues working towards making our neighborhoods safe so this never happens to another innocent person again. Let’s keep discussing ways to help prevent such tragedies.
