Hey everyone, I've been reading through the posts about Damon Haskins, and I can't stop thinking about the devastating impact this must have had on his family. What really struck me was that this tragedy took place at a block party in Prospect Heights — supposed to be a fun and safe gathering for the community, yet it turned so tragic. I can't imagine what it's been like for his mother, Venita Haskins, to lose both Damon and Tamecca in such a horrific manner and so close together. It's unimaginable. Can we talk more about what steps the community is taking after these events? I read that local leaders and community activists are pushing for changes, but has there been any progress? It's clear that something needs to be done to prevent more senseless loss, and I'm hoping that these calls for action are gaining some traction. Community safety should always be a priority, and it's heartbreaking that it often takes tragedies like these to spark necessary conversations.
