I can't stop thinking about the community impact of Dejon's death. While there's so much focus on the suspects and the crime itself, it seems like Washington Heights as a neighborhood is really suffering. Turf wars and violence are tearing this vibrant community apart, and it's so unfair to the countless families just trying to live their lives peacefully. I can't imagine the fear people must feel walking those same streets every day. It seems like there's a desperate need for more community interventions and support systems to help steer young people away from gangs and drugs. Dejon's tragic loss highlights how these systemic issues need urgent attention. Is anyone aware of local initiatives trying to address this? How can residents and outsiders alike contribute to positive change in the area?
