I can’t shake the sadness when I think about how Deandric's life was cut short in such a violent manner. I didn't know him personally, but I've heard he was a beloved figure in his community. He had a whole life ahead of him, dreams and aspirations like all of us. The fact that it was a young kid, just 17, who was involved in his death is not just troubling but deeply unsettling. This isn't just about one life taken; it's about how gang influence can tragically mold young minds and push them towards such irreversible actions. My heart goes out to Deandric's family and friends. They deserve peace and justice. The community of Newburgh really needs our support to heal and break free from this cycle of violence. It’s high time something more effective is done about these gangs, as it's not just about tackling crime but also about saving future generations.
