Has anyone looked into whether there might be any abandoned properties or caves in the area where Russell was last seen hiking? I've read that people with Alzheimer's sometimes seek shelter and hide away in places that seem familiar or safe. It's strange that there were zero signs of him, considering the surveillance footage had a clear timestamp. Maybe checking old maps or satellite images could help pinpoint anything unusual nearby. Thoughts?

I've been following the case of Russell Ralph Hanks for a while, and one aspect that really intrigues me is the fact he was seen heading toward the desert. I know he was an avid hiker, even with his Alzheimer's diagnosis, but it makes me wonder how familiar he was with that particular route. Did he have a favorite spot he always returned to, or could he have been exploring a new path that led him astray? With the desert terrain being so unpredictable, it's terrifying to think about how quickly someone could become lost or disoriented, especially in those early morning hours. If anyone local to St. George has insights about those hiking areas southwest of town, I'd love to hear more about what the landscape is like and whether others have had similar experiences getting turned around there. ??
