It's difficult to comprehend the senseless loss of life brought about by the tragic shooting of Michael Vermong. One detail that's been on my mind is the location of the incident—right outside his home at 3110 Bainbridge Avenue. It really hits hard to think that this violence occurred in a space where someone should feel safest. Reflecting on the community's response, the makeshift memorial outside his home stands out as a poignant reminder of the deep pain and anger felt by those who knew him. It's touching to see people come together to honor Michael's memory, especially considering how his sister, April, spoke out about the systemic issues that may have contributed to this tragedy. It raises important questions about how we address repeat offenders and balance justice and rehabilitation. My thoughts are with Michael's family and friends during such a difficult time.
