I can't stop thinking about the impact this terrible incident must have had on the community around Public School 61. I read that the shooting happened so close to the school and it’s unsettling to imagine what it must have been like for the kids and parents who heard about it later. Schools should be places of safety and learning, where children aren't worried about violent crimes happening right across the street.
