I’ve been following Ivan Valentin’s case, and it’s just so tragic how someone who seemed to be a part of the fabric of his community could meet such a violent end. I read he was known for helping out with odd jobs in the neighborhood, which makes it even more unsettling to think about what led to Carlos Perez targeting him so brutally. I keep wondering about Perez’s motive. It's really hard to grasp what would drive someone to commit such a horrific act. Was there a personal grudge, or was it a random act of violence? I really hope the investigation uncovers these details, not just for the sake of justice, but for those who knew and relied on Ivan. Crime has been a harsh reality for Staten Island, but seeing the community come together after such cases shows there’s still hope for better days. My heart goes out to those mourning Ivan’s loss.
