I was thinking about the community's response to Johnny Mathis's tragic passing. From what I've read, it's humbling to see how everyone came together to support Johnny's family and to stand against gun violence. It's such an inspiring example of how a neighborhood can bond during the darkest times. No family should have to endure such pain and knowing they had people rally around them hopefully made a tiny difference in their grief. What really struck me was the level of activism that sparked after Johnny's death. It's clear his community cared deeply not only for him but also for making Bedford-Stuyvesant safer for everyone. How can other communities learn from this and turn the tide against senseless violence?
