I was reading about Audrey Moate's case again, and something struck me about that phone call reportedly made to Hotard's mother-in-law. It's always been assumed that it was Audrey calling for help, but what if it wasn't? Could someone have been using her voice as a diversion, to make everyone think she was still alive and in trouble? It's strange that she'd only make that one call and then vanish without further contact. It feels like the perfect way to muddy the waters and keep investigators off the real trail. Has anyone else found this aspect of the case odd or have thoughts on what that call could have meant? Maybe there’s more to it than we’ve thought.
