Has anyone else been following the developments in the David DeGrace case? I’ve been thinking a lot about how this tragedy has impacted the Mount Vernon community, especially within the apartment building where it occurred. Losing a neighbor to such a violent crime must have been incredibly traumatic for everyone living there. I can only imagine the fear and anxiety that lingered in the hallways after the incident. I also feel deeply for David’s family who are seeking justice amidst unbearable loss. I hope the arrest of Barry Johnson and the charges brought against him provide some sense of progress, though I know nothing can truly make up for the life lost. It’s a reminder of how complex and far-reaching the impact of the drug trade can be, not just on individuals, but whole communities. Does anyone here have insight into how communities can heal after such events? How do you find a semblance of normalcy after experiencing something so horrific in your own home?
