Has anyone else been thinking about how the sentencing of McEnnis and Coleman turned out? The justice system did its part, but I can’t help but feel for Ahmad "Poppy" Alsaid's family as they navigate their lives without him. I didn't know him personally, but from what many in our community have shared, he was more than just a store owner; he was someone you could count on for a smile or a listening ear. It's so sad that his life was cut short over something senseless like this. These cases always make me worry about the safety of small business owners. Sending love and strength to everyone who is missing him right now. Hopefully, this case encourages more people to look out for one another and to push for the safety of our neighborhoods.

Does anyone else feel absolutely gutted about the impact Poppy’s death had on the Niagara Falls community? I remember stopping by the Bridgeway Market countless times and Poppy always had a welcoming smile. It’s hard to believe someone could bring such violence to a place so filled with warmth and kindness. His legacy as a respected business owner and dear friend to many should never be overlooked. That night before Thanksgiving should’ve been about family and gratitude, but instead, it brought unimaginable sorrow to Poppy’s loved ones and all of us who knew him. I hope the convictions of McEnnis and Coleman bring some sense of peace, though I know the emptiness from losing someone like Poppy can never truly be filled. My heart goes out to everyone affected, and I hope our community continues to rally together in his memory, showing the same kindness he always gave us.
