I was just reading about the mysterious disappearance of James Hugh Wilson from that tragic TAG Airlines Flight 730 crash in 1970. Something that really stood out to me was how challenging it must have been for search and rescue teams at the time. Lake Erie is notoriously difficult because of its choppy waters and unpredictable conditions, especially in January. I can’t even imagine the impact this had on the efforts to recover the missing individuals. Even though they found the remains of most of the passengers and crew, it's haunting to think that James and that one other passenger just vanished without a trace. This was a long time before we had today's recovery technology—did they ever use any of the newer sonar or underwater ROVs in attempts to find the remaining victims, I wonder? I'm curious if they revisit such cases with modern tech or if it’s a closed chapter. If anyone has insights into how often older cases like this one are revisited, I’d love to hear more.
