I can't stop thinking about the proximity of this murder to Windermere Boulevard Elementary School. It's incredibly concerning that such violence occurred so close to a place where children learn and play every day. The thought of those kids and their parents being exposed to this is just gut-wrenching. I hope the school district is offering support to help the children process any fears or anxiety they might be feeling knowing something so traumatic happened nearby. My heart goes out to James Booker's family and friends, and I sincerely hope they get the answers and justice they deserve soon. It's frustrating not having more information about the case, but I'm grateful to the Amherst Police Department and everyone else involved for working hard on this investigation. If anyone has tips or saw something that night, please come forward – it could make all the difference.
