I was reading about Nathan Bernard's case today and it got me thinking about the delay in solving these kinds of crimes. It’s distressing that it took over four years to finally arrest Jalen Reed. I can't even imagine what Nathan's family went through during that time—not knowing if justice would ever be served. It’s unsettling to think about how many other families might be in a similar limbo, waiting for answers and some sense of closure. RPD’s perseverance in the investigation should be noted, but it also highlights the underlying issue of how challenged our systems can be when it comes to swiftly addressing gun violence. It's a complex problem with no easy solutions, but this case really underscores the need for more resources and better strategies to prevent such tragedies. My thoughts are with Nathan’s family and friends as they navigate through the legal proceedings ahead. Fingers crossed that this time, justice will be on their side.
