Hey everyone, I've been diving into the John and Faye Whatley case from '76, and one thing I'm curious about is that bedroom door found a year later in a barn. How on earth could it have been missed in the initial search? I mean, if the barn was checked, did someone move it there after the fact, or was it genuinely overlooked by investigators the first time around? Interestingly, it seems like it was a crucial piece of the puzzle, almost like a breadcrumb we were supposed to find. Just speculating, but if it was moved, that suggests someone was actively trying to cover their tracks or toy with the investigation. Anyone have insights on how often evidence is found like that long after the fact? Could this door hold more clues than we think?
Has anyone looked into the mysterious van/truck reportedly seen near the Whatleys' property? It's intriguing that it was spotted speeding away around the time they went missing. I feel like whoever was driving it might hold some crucial answers, yet it seems like this lead never went anywhere. I understand that eyewitnesses can sometimes have unreliable memories, especially after so many years, but it could still be worth revisiting this angle with advances in technology, like traffic cams, if there were any nearby back then. Did the investigators ever manage to track down the vehicle through any other means? Maybe talking to people living in that area again could yield new insights. ?
