Hey everyone, I just wanted to bring up something that’s been weighing on my mind about the Wayne Lasontant case. I can't even imagine what his friends and family are going through. It’s just awful that someone so young was taken in such a brutal way. I’ve been thinking about the role that fear plays in cases like this. From what I've read, it seems like a lot of potential witnesses are scared to speak out because of gang retaliation. It's such a difficult situation because, on one hand, you want justice for Wayne and accountability for those involved, and on the other, you can understand why people might be terrified to come forward. We tend to focus on gathering physical evidence, but I wonder if there are more ways we can support witnesses willing to talk. Maybe there are programs or community efforts that can protect them better? I’m really hoping that with Warlick being caught, it might encourage more people to speak out. It's crucial for building a safer community in the long run. Would love to hear if anyone knows of grassroots efforts or initiatives that help support witnesses in gang-related cases. Thanks for letting me share my thoughts. I just really hope we see some lasting positive change from all of this.
