I keep thinking about the environment at that party – more than 100 people there, many just looking to have a good time, yet their lives were changed forever. Jaquayla and Jarvis didn't even have a chance to defend themselves when chaos erupted with no warning. It's terrifying to consider that you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, as they unfortunately were. The community has been vocal about not letting their memories fade without action. I read somewhere that local activists have organized vigils and discussions to bring awareness to gun violence. It's crucial these events emphasize the importance of creating safer environments for our youth. We owe it to Jaquayla and Jarvis to ensure this doesn't happen to someone else.
