I read about Jaylen Flowers’ tragic death, and I can't help but wonder about the impact on his friends and family who have to navigate life without him. It's such a devastating loss, and thinking about that day at Howard Houses raises so many questions. How do we effectively protect residents in these areas? It's infuriating that this is the fourth fatal shooting there in such a short span, and I can’t imagine the fear and frustration the community must feel living under these conditions. What more can be done to prevent these occurrences and truly make a difference in the safety of places like Brownsville? It seems like the lack of significant leads in cases like these points to a need for change in how these investigations are approached. My thoughts are with everyone mourning Jaylen; this is a shared tragedy that affects the whole community, and it’s a stark reminder of the work needed to stop this senseless violence.
