Hey everyone, I’ve been following Shakiya Boyce's case closely, and while there's been so much focus on the trial and the tragedy of her death, I wanted to talk a little about the memorial she attended that awful night. She was there to pay respects to another victim, which just shows the kind of person she was—a caring individual who supported her community. It makes her loss feel even more profound knowing she was honoring another life lost to violence. This cycle of loss and grief seems endless and leaves a deep mark on the community. It's comforting to see how her friends and family have rallied together to push for change, but it still doesn’t take away from the empty space she’s left behind.
