It's deeply unsettling to think about how quickly a celebration can turn into a nightmare. Cheyenne was just 20, enjoying time with friends at a Halloween party—something so many of us have done without a second thought. I can't even begin to imagine how traumatic that must have been for everyone present, especially knowing that five others were injured as well. It makes you realize how fragile life is and how senseless violence can change everything in the blink of an eye. I hope her friends who were with her that night can find comfort and support from each other as they try to cope with such a shocking loss. May Cheyenne’s family find peace as they navigate this unimaginable grief. Meanwhile, kudos to the Lockport Police for swiftly handling the case and ensuring that justice was served. I hope this tragic event prompts more conversations about preventing gun violence to spare others from similar pain in the future.
