Just learned about Jahdane Olivierre's tragic death, and I'm really struck by how much this senseless violence has taken away from his young son. Imagine having only memories to hold onto at such a tender age. Jahdane was clearly turning his life around, focusing on his book project and health food business, striving to make his son proud. It’s infuriating to think how this child’s future is changed forever. I can’t imagine the pain Jahdane’s family is going through right now. It’s incredibly frustrating that witness cooperation is so hard to secure; it just feels like we’re stuck in a vicious cycle. My thoughts are with his loved ones. They deserve justice and peace.
