Hey everyone, I’ve been following the Aaron Williams case ever since it happened, and something that's been on my mind is the role of the music industry in all of this. It’s so tragic to think about how Supa Gates was right on the cusp of something big and then this happened. It makes me wonder about the pressures and jealousy he might have faced just by getting some major attention. I remember reading that jealousy was suspected as a motive, possibly because he was on the verge of signing with a major studio. It’s a tough world out there for artists, especially in a scene as competitive as drill rap. The fact that he had a track featured on OVO Sound Radio shows he was definitely catching eyes and ears. His family must be going through unimaginable pain not only from losing him but from the lack of answers and justice. The fact that no suspects have been named yet is really frustrating. I hope they find some peace and that law enforcement can make progress soon. If anyone has insight into how the music industry can support young artists better or reduce these risks, I’d love to hear it. It's important we figure out ways to keep these promising talents safe. RIP Supa Gates. Your music and passion left a mark on many.
