I’ve been thinking a lot about the bravery of those Monroe County Probation Officers who were nearby. It must have been terrifying to hear gunshots and then jump straight into action, chasing after McNeil without hesitation. It's a profound reminder of the unpredictability of their job and the everyday risks they face. Just imagine how different the outcome might have been if they weren't there and ready to respond. While nothing can change what happened to Jaquan, those officers deserve recognition for their courage amidst such a chaotic and tragic situation. My heart goes out to Jaquan's family and everyone impacted by this senseless act of violence. Their loss is felt deeply, and I hope more community support can prevent such tragedies in the future.
