Has anyone else been struck by the parallel between Lashon Turner's case and the city's spike in violence during that time? It just feels so senseless that a man who was such a pillar for his family and community could be taken from this world in a moment that seemed to reflect broader issues in Albany. The fact that Lashon was one of six homicide victims in May 2021 just underscores the urgency of tackling this wave of violence. It's like the brighter and more impactful someone's light, the darker the shadow when they're lost. My heart goes out to Lashon's family and friends, especially to his children who have to navigate life without their superhero. I'm hopeful that the community can rally and advocate for meaningful changes to prevent more tragedies like this. What are people’s thoughts on how we as a community can better support families affected by such loss and maybe even drive some positive change?
