Tricia Lynn Reitler, a 19-year-old psychology student at Indiana Wesleyan University, was last seen on the evening of March 29, 1993. She had taken a break from writing a term paper and walked to a nearby Marsh Supermarket in Marion, Indiana, about half a mile from her dorm. After purchasing a soda and a magazine, Tricia left the store, but she never made it back to campus.
The next day, her bloodstained clothing was found in a field near Seybold Pool, between the supermarket and the university. Despite extensive searches, Tricia herself was never located, and foul play is strongly suspected.
Several suspects have been considered over the years. One of the most notable is Larry DeWayne Hall, a convicted kidnapper and suspected serial killer. Items related to Tricia's case were found in his van shortly after her disappearance, and Hall later confessed to her abduction and murder, only to recant his statement. Though Hall led investigators to a site near the Mississinewa Reservoir, no evidence of Tricia was ever found. Despite these developments, no one has been formally charged in connection to her disappearance, and her case remains unsolved.
Tricia's family, devastated by the loss, has continued to seek answers. Although they believe she is no longer alive, they hold out hope that her remains will be discovered, offering some form of closure after decades of uncertainty.
