Hey everyone, I’ve been thinking a lot about the impact Lavar Beard's murder had on the community in Rochester. It's so hard to wrap my head around how something so tragic could happen in broad daylight. I can't even begin to imagine how Lavar's family is feeling, but I hope they're finding some peace and comfort in the love and support from those around them. What's particularly sticking with me is how events spiraled so tragically with Simran Gordon’s subsequent actions. It’s deeply unsettling to think about the escalations in violence and how that led to not just more loss but even greater unrest in the whole community. I think it’s important to keep the conversation going about these issues and focus on addressing the root causes of violence. Maybe through more dialogue, we can work towards real solutions and prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future. Sending love to all who are hurting. Let’s keep Lavar’s memory alive in our hearts.
