I was reading up on the tragic loss of Roland Tramond Sewell, and something struck me about his story. It's so devastating to think about the fact that Roland was just 22 and had his whole life ahead of him. He was someone’s son, father, and brother, and I can’t imagine how hard this must be for his family. My heart goes out to them. It breaks me to see another life lost to the senseless violence that plagued New Orleans during that time. What really confounds me is why some of these cases, like Roland’s, remain unresolved. Justice seems to be this elusive goal for his family, despite all their efforts to keep his memory alive and ensure his story isn’t forgotten. Sharing stories and keeping conversations going is one way we can support them, I think. Has anyone heard of any updates or if there are ongoing efforts to solve his case? Every piece of information, no matter how small, could make a difference.

Hey everyone, I've been reading up on the tragic case of Roland Tramond Sewell, whose life was cut too short by a shooting in New Orleans back in 2016. What really gets me is thinking about the ripple effect his loss must have had on his former classmates from Langham Creek High School in Houston. Imagine being one of his friends or teachers, hearing about the news, and trying to make sense of it all. It’s hard to grapple with the idea that someone you shared memories with is gone just like that. It's not just a loss for his family, but also for those who knew him in school—where bonds often form that last a lifetime. I hope his friends have found some way to honor his memory and support one another through this difficult time. If anyone here happened to attend Langham Creek during that time and knew Roland, I'd be interested to hear how the school community responded and what the overall sentiment was. Sending love to everyone who knew and loved him.
