Does anyone else find it odd that Rita Navarra Stants' disappearance wasn't reported until 2019, despite the fact she went missing in 1983? I can't help but wonder what was going on between her and her family during those 36 years. Did they actually believe she was safe somewhere all those years, or was there possibly pressure not to report it for some reason? It seems like such a tremendously long time to not raise any red flags.
And what's the deal with her husband refusing to speak with her family? Was that always the case, or did it start after she disappeared? I feel like his non-cooperation might be a red flag, but without more information, it’s hard to know what to make of it. If anyone has more details or theories on the family dynamics or her relationship with her husband, I'd love to hear them.
Has anyone looked into the possibility of Rita's husband being stationed somewhere else shortly after her disappearance? I'm curious because military orders can come through quickly, and it might have been easy for him to leave the area without any questions being asked. Especially in the early '80s, I imagine documentation and records weren't as digitized, which could make tracking someone's movements more challenging if people weren't paying close attention. It just seems odd that he won't talk to her family, and maybe this is one reason why. Plus, if he had a reason to leave for an assignment, it could explain why there's such a lack of information about what really happened in those critical days. Would love to hear any thoughts or theories on this angle!
Has anyone else been digging into the details about Rita Navarra Stants' husband's silence on her disappearance? I can't get over the fact that he hasn't spoken to her family about it. I mean, wouldn’t you want to be as helpful as possible if your spouse just vanished? The whole situation feels off to me. Plus, back then there weren't as many ways to track someone, so his Navy connections could have made it a lot easier for him to know things others might not. I’m not pointing fingers, just curious if others think his silence raises a red flag. Has anyone seen or read anything that might shed more light on his stance?
