I've been following the tragic events surrounding Wayne Goodwin's murder and can’t stop thinking about his family right now. Imagine being told that your son, brother, or friend is never coming home because of such a senseless act of violence. I read that this was one of three shootings in one night, which is horrifying. It makes me wonder about the larger picture of what's happening in the Bronx and how communities are coping with these events. With no arrests made yet, I can’t imagine the frustration and pain his loved ones must be experiencing. Justice needs to be served not just for Wayne and his family, but for everyone impacted by this violence. If anyone local has heard updates or ways we can support the victims' families, please share. We need to stand together to bring about change.
Has anyone else been following the news on the string of shootings in the Bronx? I’m particularly concerned about the area around East 180th Street and Mohegan Avenue. How many more lives need to be affected before there's meaningful change? It's hard not to feel a connection to the families impacted. Wayne Goodwin was just 22, and it’s devastating that his life—and the lives of others that night—were cut so short. I can't imagine what his family is going through right now, and it's beyond troubling that no arrests have been made. I often wonder what can be done to curb this violence and protect members of our community; it feels like every day there's a new story of senseless tragedy. To anyone who knows more or is from the area, what do you think might help improve the situation? Is there more we can do as individuals to support local efforts and bring about real change?
