Hey everyone, I’ve been looking into Monique Smith’s case for a while now, and something that keeps gnawing at me is the neighborhood where this tragedy happened. Gentilly was described as a good area where neighbors watch out for each other. It strikes me as odd that no one spotted anything unusual that night. I’m thinking, given how close-knit the community was, did anyone see someone unfamiliar hanging around the days leading up to the crime? It feels like the suspect might have known the family’s routines, which makes me wonder if he blended in beforehand. Maybe someone out there remembers a detail that seemed insignificant at the time but could offer a new lead. My heart goes out to Monique’s family, especially A’miyah, who went through such an unimaginable ordeal. I hope for answers and justice for them all soon.
Has anyone else been following the heartbreaking case of Monique Juanita Smith and her family? I was just reading about the latest developments, and something really stood out to me. They released a sketch of a potential suspect almost three years after the murders, suggesting he might be familiar with Monique’s house and family. It makes me wonder if the killer had some personal vendetta or was closely connected in some way.
The fact that A'miya, the only survivor, had to endure such a traumatic experience is so troubling. I can't imagine the strength she must have to keep going. It’s been over six years, and still, there’s no justice for Monique, her kids, or the family left behind. What do you guys think about the sketch and the idea that the perpetrator might have known them? Could this suggest a motive we haven’t thought about yet?
I hope the authorities keep pressing on this case, and maybe someone with information finally comes forward. Sending love to the Smith/Simms families and everyone affected. ?
The kids' awards ceremony was supposed to be such a proud moment for Monique. It's devastating to think they never got to stand up and receive those awards. Perfect attendance is no small feat, especially when balancing life as a single mom while giving every possible opportunity to her kids. It’s clear Monique put everything she had into making sure they thrived. I’m hoping the community continues supporting A’miyah as she faces the unimaginable. It would be a great tribute if the school could find a way to honor the children posthumously. Maybe planting a memorial tree or setting up a scholarship in their names? It's the small gestures like these that may create a lasting legacy for the family while keeping their memory alive. Sending so much strength to Debra and Jonathan during such a difficult time.
