Hey everyone, I've been thinking a lot about the impact Orin Hoyte's murder has had on his family and community in East New York. Besides the immediate emotional toll, I worry about the sense of safety that might have been shattered for those living in the area. It's concerning to think about how this terrifying event could affect residents' day-to-day lives, especially in a place where many knew and respected Orin. I read that the NYPD encourages people to come forward with any information, but I can't help but wonder if fear or distrust might hold some back. What do you all think about this aspect? How can communities bridge the gap between residents and law enforcement to ensure that everyone feels safe and heard? Hoping for peace and justice for Orin's loved ones soon. Any insights or experiences you all can share would be greatly appreciated. Stay safe, everyone.

I’ve been following the case of Orin Hoyte, and something keeps puzzling me. I read that he was shot in the lobby of an apartment building on Wortman Avenue, and I can’t help but wonder about the surveillance situation in the building. Aren’t lobbies usually covered by CCTV? It baffles me that the suspect hasn’t been identified yet. It’s so difficult to think about how his family must be feeling with no answers or closure. It makes me wonder if our buildings have enough security measures in place. If anyone is in that area, have you noticed if the building seemed to have cameras? Maybe there was an issue with them not working? I hope the NYPD is doing all they can to look into this angle. Something like this just shouldn’t go unsolved, and it’s vital for the community’s safety to figure out what happened. Sending my thoughts to Hoyte’s family and everyone affected.
