This case is so unsettling, and my thoughts are definitely with Filip's family and friends during this incredibly trying time. I can't imagine the heartache they're going through. I wanted to talk about the angle of community impact a bit. It's been mentioned that Filip had a criminal past, but his neighbors described him as someone who was kind and helpful, especially to the elderly residents. This seems to reflect a completely different side of him that people didn't see beyond his record. It's a shame that gun violence continues to touch communities, especially when individuals can have such a positive influence on those around them. What really gets to me is how this incident happened right in the lobby of his building, a space that should feel safe and communal. The fear it must instill in the residents of the building and neighborhood is something I can only imagine. I hope this investigation brings some clarity not only for Filip’s loved ones but also for the community feeling this loss.
