I’ve been reading about Alan Downer's case, and it’s just so upsetting to think about how someone could go through such an ordeal and still not get justice after all those years. One aspect of this that really gets to me is the emotional and physical toll it must have taken on him over three decades. Living with such serious injuries day in and day out, knowing that the people responsible were still out there, must have been incredibly difficult. It's hard enough to heal from such trauma physically, but the psychological impact, too, is something I can't even begin to imagine. I really hope advancements in DNA or forensic science can maybe bring something new to light. Just thinking about his family, it's got to be so tough knowing that this chapter has yet to come to a close, even after all this time. If anyone who was around North Carey Street or West Northern Parkway back in ‘86 remembers anything, no matter how minor it seems, it might really help. Alan deserves justice, and it's saddening to see cases like this without resolution for so long. Let’s hope the renewed focus on cold cases might bring some answers.
