I've been digging into Nori Oyakawa Jenkins’ disappearance and noticed something curious about the area she walked away from—a lot of stories about individuals disappearing or experiencing mental health crises around Topeka State Hospital back in the day. Does anyone know if the hospital had any controversies or incidents involving missing patients during the 80s? It seems odd that such a vulnerable individual could just vanish without any significant leads. Also, I wonder how much the local community might have known about her struggles and if they ever attempted outreach or if she was more or less left to fend for herself.
