It's so disturbing to think about how Mukesh and Kanu Patel were treated in those last moments. The fact that they were subjected to racial slurs while enduring such a terrifying ordeal just adds another layer of horror to the situation. It’s truly appalling that in their closing moments, they not only faced a violent end but also degrading insults on top of it all. My heart goes out to Ashvin for surviving such an ordeal and having to carry those memories. I can't even begin to comprehend the trauma he must be experiencing. How can people harbor so much hate and indifference? It’s a chilling reminder of the dangers that come with late-night shifts – something that many of us might take for granted when picking up our morning coffee. Immigrant workers deserve so much more from society, starting with safety and respect.
