I was reading about the tragic case of Kewis Gonzalez and it just got me thinking about the constant cycle of violence in New Orleans, especially around the Seventh District. It’s just devastating for the community and those who knew Kewis. We often focus on numbers and statistics, but it’s important to remember each one represents a person with a life and people who cared about them. I wonder if there are more grassroots community efforts or outreach programs in that area that could help to shift things positively. It's clear from Kewis's case that the NOPD is seeking public assistance, but I feel like there needs to be more engaged dialogue between the community and law enforcement. How can we foster a sense of trust and cooperation to perhaps prevent tragedies like this from happening in the future? My heart goes out to Kewis’s family and friends who have to navigate their loss amidst such ongoing violence. Does anyone have insights into what more could or should be done at the community level?
