I can't stop thinking about how Jamal's friends must be feeling right now. As someone who also grew up in an area dealing with similar issues, I remember how tight-knit these communities can be. Losing someone so young and full of life is unfathomable. Jamal was known for his beautiful smile and humor, traits that probably brought a lot of warmth and laughter to his friends. The ripple effect of such loss is enormous; it's not something that just goes away. It's hard to grapple with the fact that there's such limited information about what really happened. Sometimes it feels like these cases just slip through the cracks, leaving families and friends without closure or justice. I hope that talking about Jamal's story can push for more accountability and help prevent another tragedy like this. My thoughts are with Jamal's grandmother, Darlene, and the entire Hazel family. They have already lost so much. Let’s keep supporting them as a community, not just in words but in action too.
