I’ve been thinking a lot about the Zumiez store and how it must have been such a tight-knit environment for Tyler and Brianna before the tragedy. It's clear that Tyler was deeply committed to his community, working with the Howard County Drug-Free Program and the Serenity Center. I can't help but think about how his presence at Zumiez, a place that fosters individuality and passion for skateboarding, must have brought people together even more. Skating culture has always been about accepting people from all walks of life, and it sounds like Tyler embodied that spirit perfectly. The aftermath must have been unimaginably difficult for his coworkers and the customers who frequented the store, especially knowing how passionate Tyler was about fostering belonging and positivity. It's comforting to know his contributions are remembered and that efforts are continuing to honor his memory. We're here with you, Mount Airy and Columbia communities, and hoping that somehow, in the darkness, his light still shines through.
