Hey everyone, I've been following the case of the F/V Sequel and noticed something curious about the weather reports from that day. Does anyone here know if there were any sudden changes in the weather that could have contributed to the boat capsizing? I read somewhere that unexpected squalls can make conditions really treacherous in Prince William Sound, especially near Story Island. Maybe someone local or familiar with that area could chime in? I'm just trying to piece together what could have gone wrong for Barbara Lee Martin, Sandra Hvatum, and Russell Farrell. Thanks!

I was reading up on the F/V Sequel incident and something struck me. Why was the boat so far from Story Island when it capsized? I know weather conditions can change rapidly in Prince William Sound, but does anyone have insight on what the crew was planning that day? Were they experienced with the waters around Story Island? It's unsettling how they went missing so close to land. I'm wondering if there might have been another reason they were headed that far north, like a specific fishing spot or something else. Thoughts?

Does anyone have more information about the weather conditions on the day the F/V Sequel capsized? I read somewhere that sudden weather changes in the area can be really dangerous for smaller vessels, especially in Prince William Sound. I'm wondering if there was any kind of unexpected squall or freak wave reported that day. It's just so puzzling how something like this could happen so suddenly. If anyone local or familiar with the boating community there knows more, your insights would be really appreciated. Keeping Sandra, Russell, and everyone affected in my thoughts.
