It's hard to grasp the pain the Minor family must be enduring after losing Michael in such a senseless manner. I've been following the case and something that keeps gnawing at me is the 911 call itself. It's such a crucial piece of the puzzle. The woman who called was clearly terrified, believing Michael had a handgun. I can't imagine what was going through her mind at that moment. Still, it makes me question how these situations are assessed and handled. Should there be a protocol where backup or a de-escalation team is called in? Would that make a difference in the outcomes of similar situations? It seems like these incidents happen too frequently, and every time, families are left grieving and communities are left questioning the protocols that could lead to such tragic results. Michael's death has sparked yet another discussion about police practices, and it's encouraging to see so many people calling for change. It shows how deeply these issues cut into the fabric of our society. For the Minor family and those who loved him, I hope there can eventually be some healing and justice, whatever that may look like.
