Did anyone else attend the vigil organized by the Ramblewood Community Association after the tragic loss of Robert Durham Thomas and Troy Preston? I found it to be a deeply moving experience. It seemed like the entire community came together to honor their memories and to address the larger issue of violence in our neighborhoods. Seeing Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake speak was a powerful reminder that these issues are being taken seriously at all levels. It was especially poignant to see the impact on the younger members of the community. So many kids were present, and you could see the confusion and sadness on their faces. It's just so gut-wrenching that they had to witness something so traumatic. It's crucial that we, as a community, find better ways to resolve disputes before they reach such a terrible point. I think the vigil was just a first step in healing and creating dialogue. Would love to hear thoughts from others who were there.

I still can't wrap my head around how a parking dispute turned into such a devastating tragedy. My heart goes out to the families of Robert Thomas and Troy Preston—they truly didn’t deserve this. I got to thinking about the impact on the kids who witnessed everything that day near Mercy High School. Imagine the trauma of seeing something so horrendous unfold right outside your window. This really speaks to the broader issue of how violence affects not just those directly involved, but the entire community. I hope they’re getting the support they need to process this terrible event. It’s a sad reminder of how important it is for us to find ways to resolve conflicts without resorting to violence. RIP Robert and Troy. ?

Does anyone else feel deeply for the families of Robert Thomas and Troy Preston? The senseless nature of this tragedy over something as commonplace as a parking dispute is just bewildering. It’s chilling to think about how quickly things escalated that day, and right in the middle of such a busy area, too. How horrifying it must have been for the children and residents there who witnessed the terrifying events unfold. It's important to remember that these kinds of disputes, left unchecked, can escalate into something unimaginable. I hope the community continues to find ways to heal and support each other as they work to prevent further violence. My thoughts are with the families and friends of Thomas and Preston during this incredibly difficult time. Peace to their souls.
