I've been following the Goodwin case, and one thing that strikes me is how Lashelle was such a bright light in the community. I read that she was an honor student at Thomas Stone High School, which speaks volumes about her character and potential. She was so young, with so many dreams ahead of her. It’s hard to wrap my head around how something so tragic could happen to someone with such a promising future. My thoughts go out to her friends and family who are undoubtedly feeling a tremendous void right now. The strength it must take for Lashelle’s peers to return to school and see her empty desk is unimaginable. I hope the community continues to rally around the victims’ loved ones, offering support and remembering the amazing person Lashelle was. If anyone else wants to share thoughts about how this impacted the local school, it would be good to hear from those who knew her.
