I can't stop thinking about the role security cameras played in this case. It's really unsettling but also strangely reassuring to realize just how much they can capture. In the shooting on Medgar Evers Street, it seems like the footage really painted a clear picture of what happened with Barnabas Offer Jr. and how the police were able to track his movements. I can't even begin to imagine how vital this footage was in piecing together the events of that tragic day. Has anyone else noticed how important video evidence seems to be in so many cases lately? It just makes me think about all the things that go unnoticed or unresolved when there isn't this kind of evidence available. My heart goes out to Michael Covert's family and friends, especially knowing the evidence was crucial in justice being served. With this technology, it's a bit of comfort in a terribly tragic situation, knowing that there's a stronger chance for accountability.

I've been following the case of Michael Covert with a heavy heart. It's so sad to see someone lose their life in such a tragic way. I can't stop thinking about the role security cameras played here. Knowing that the footage helped identify and apprehend Barnabas Offer Jr. gives some sense of justice, but it's so unsettling to imagine this violence playing out near a community recreation center—a place that should be safe for everyone. Covert was clearly loved by his community and colleagues at Chick & Ruth's Delly. I can only imagine the shock and grief they're feeling. It’s infuriating that Offer was out there endangering lives, and it makes me think about how important it is to have these security measures in place. Hopefully, this leads to more awareness and preventive measures to keep our neighborhoods safer. Sending strength and prayers to Michael's family, friends, and the community as they navigate this difficult time.
