Has anyone else been curious about the timeline around Gonzalez and Chavez's disappearance? I've been digging through old articles and trying to piece together what they might have been up to that last day. The fact that the car was parked nearby with the keys left at home is so odd. It's like they left in a hurry but then... nothing. If they were going to meet someone or run an errand after hours, wouldn’t they need the car? I wonder if anyone's looked into whether they had plans that evening, or if they had mentioned anything unusual to coworkers or friends. There are just so many unanswered questions in this case. Would love to hear if anyone else has dug into the timeline or has other insights!
I’ve been diving into the Gonzalez and Chavez case, and something that really sticks out to me is the unlocked apartment door. Given that everything else seems so meticulously left behind—like their keys and personal belongings—it makes me wonder if they left in a hurry or were perhaps expecting someone. The car being parked nearby but not used is puzzling too. It feels like they were confident enough to think they'd be back soon. Does anyone know if the area around their apartment was considered safe back then, or if there were any similar incidents reported? Just trying to piece together why they might have left like that.
Does anyone else find it odd that Gonzalez and Chavez's vehicle was left so close to their apartment? It seems weird that they would vanish without taking the car, especially if they planned to open the store the following day. It kind of makes me wonder if they went out on foot somewhere nearby and ran into trouble. Maybe they trusted someone who knocked on their door, and that's why it's unlocked? Just throwing ideas out there since the whole situation is baffling. Also, did the police ever look into any nearby CCTV footage from businesses or homes, or was that not a thing back in '96?
