Has anyone else been following the Thailek Jacob Willis case? It's been weighing heavily on my mind, especially knowing how young all the individuals involved are. One thing I can’t stop thinking about is the location where this all happened—Edgewood High School’s parking lot. It seems so surreal that a place meant for learning and shaping young futures became the backdrop for such a tragic event. I can only imagine the impact on students and staff who were part of that school community. Returning to a place marked by such violence must have been incredibly difficult for them. It's also a reminder of how crucial it is to address the root causes of youth involvement in criminal activities to prevent more lives from being altered or lost. My heart goes out to Thailek’s family and friends who are left grappling with this loss. Thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected, and I genuinely hope the community finds some peace and healing as they move forward. Would love to hear others’ thoughts on what measures communities can take to protect their young people from similar fates.
